htdocsplayer
What is it?

htdocsplayer is a browser (libxul) embedded in a restricted httpd with CGI support

With this you can embed all kinds of internet resources in your GUI like (e.g.) tutorial videos from YouTube

Write your GUI for the desktop and the web only once and save a lot of time because htdocsplayer GUI's can easily be exported to a full featured httpd
Security

Right now "restricted httpd" means that:

1) Connections from somewhere else than localhost will be ignored
2) Connections from clients with other User-Agents will be ignored
3) Unexpected requests will be ignored

This list will be extended

Currently there is only a test version for Linux available.

Install

Here is a steps htdocsplayer installation guide

unpack the latest htdocsplayer distribution (see download section)
compile the sources (this is not necessary if you downloaded a binary distribution)
start the example application from the commandline with ./test.sh
